Who we are
BaliLens is a professional photographer and videographer network operated by Mata Badai, based in Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia. This policy explains how personal information is collected, used and protected when you visit balilens.com or contact us through WhatsApp.
The commercial terms governing a booking — deposits, payment, delivery, rescheduling and image usage — are set out separately in our Booking & Shoot Policy.
Information we collect
Information you provide. When you message us on WhatsApp or complete a booking, we receive your name, contact details, the content of your message, shoot dates and locations, group size, reference images, and any payment details you choose to share.
Information collected automatically. Our tracking tools record the pages you view, the site that referred you, your device and browser type, approximate region derived from your IP address, and general usage patterns.
No special-category data (health, beliefs, biometrics or similar) is requested, and none should be sent to us.
How we use information
Personal information is used only to:
- respond to enquiries and prepare quotations;
- confirm, plan, and deliver a booked shoot;
- issue invoices and process payment;
- measure website usage and advertising performance;
- improve our content, packages and service; and
- comply with accounting, tax and legal obligations.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information.

How long we keep information
- Enquiry and booking correspondence: while the booking remains active and for up to 24 months after our last contact.
- Delivered photographs and video: available for download for 30 days after delivery, as set out in the Booking & Shoot Policy.
- Invoices and payment records: for the period required by Indonesian accounting and tax regulations.
- Aggregated analytics: retained by Google and OpenAI under their own retention settings.
Who we share information with
Information is shared only with the providers necessary to operate our services: Google (website analytics and advertising), OpenAI (advertising measurement), WhatsApp/Meta (messaging), Airbnb, PayPal and Wise (payment), and our hosting provider. Each acts under its own terms and processes only the data required for its function.
We do not disclose personal information for marketing purposes to any third party.
International transfers
Our providers operate servers outside Indonesia, including in the European Economic Area and the United States. Where information is transferred out of the EEA or the UK, it is protected by an adequacy decision or by standard contractual clauses adopted by the European Commission.
Your rights
Where the UK or EU GDPR applies, you may request to:
- access a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- have inaccurate information corrected;
- have information erased, or processing restricted or objected to;
- receive your information in a transferable format; and
- withdraw consent for cookies at any time.
